Breast Lift

Breast Lift Surgery

Restore a youthful appearance to your breasts with our mastopexy, or breast lift procedure. Over time and because of pregnancies and gravity, breasts tend to lose their shape and firmness. Breasts of any size can be lifted, but women with smaller breasts tend to see longer-lasting results.

Mastopexy is a safe procedure, although not always simple. Generally, an incision is made along the natural contour of the breast where the excess skin will be removed. The nipple and areola will be repositioned, and the skin surrounding them is brought together to reshape the entire breast area.

What to Expect After

Expect to be bruised, swollen, and a little uncomfortable for several days. Pain medication can help alleviate this. Stitches will be removed after one or two weeks, and scarring is normal. As with breast augmentation, take a few days off of work and avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activities until you are cleared by Dr. Black.

Complications are possible, as with any surgery. Breast lift complications may include bleeding, infection, poor wound healing, wide or hypertrophic scars, keloids, pain, numbness, asymmetry, recurrent ptosis, loss of the nipple, or loss of nipple sensation.

What Breast Lift Surgery Won't Do

Breast lift surgery offers countless advantages. Depending on your desired results, however, our team may recommend separate procedures to achieve the best look. If you’re considering a lift, be sure to browse the following section to learn more about the limitations of this particular surgery.
• Breast lift surgery will not drastically alter the size of your breasts or round out the upper portion of the breast.
• If you would like to achieve a fuller look, consider breast augmentation surgery along with your lift.
• If you want smaller breasts, consider combining breast lift and breast reduction surgery.
